The Dismembered
Tennesseans
It was back in 1945 that a group of McCallie students got together and began singing and playing a brand of Bluegrass music that has gone on now for more than 55 years. The name "Dismembered Tennesseans" seemed good enough a name for a bunch of teenagers who had no long range plans, and they sang their way through school.
But somehow the music never stopped, and the band stayed together for the next 55 years, singing and laughing their way across the country - from Florida to Washington to Ohio and Colorado and points between.
Society for the
Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America
A native of southern California,
David Parmley was a founding member
of the internationally acclaimed,
Bluegrass Cardinals. In that association
of 18 years, the Cardinals recorded
fifteen separates projects, made
appearances on the Grand Ole Opry,
the Ralph Emory Show, even the White
House for former President, Jimmy
Carter. In 1994 David teamed up with
banjo great, Scott Vestal to form Continental Divide. The rest
is, as they say, history. Known for his soulful voice and driving
rhythm guitar, and exceptional skills as a producer, David has notched many awards, including: International Bluegrass
Music Associations "Recorded Event of the Year" 1991 and
1995. Continental Divide became an instant success with
bluegrass fans all over the world as well, claiming the
IBMA's coveted, "Emerging Artist of the Year" award in 1995.

Bluegrass music has always rested on a foundation that combines the old and new, but seldom with the kind of twist embodied in the debut of Randy Waller . On the one hand, as the son of the Country Gentlemen's legendary Charlie Waller, he is an artist bearing one of the most beloved names in bluegrass history. On the other, he is a new bluegrass talent, a man who has found his own way in the world of music before returning to bluegrass.
